Let’s Talk Music…

Christmas is over, which means it’s time to pack up all those great Bing Crosby and Sinatra Christmas records and listen to some year-round music again.  Now I’m not one to preach about music; G and I both have pretty long lists of genres we enjoy.  The playlist for our October roadtrip to Tennessee included lots of Jimmy Buffett, some Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, some Girl Talk, and some of what G likes to call “hippity-hop”.  So I’m not going to be one to trash someone else’s tastes or tell them what to listen to.  But when it comes to pop country music these days, I get a little upset.  I think the nasally curly-headed blonde girl that always sings about hating boys is tarnishing a genre that boasts some of the greatest artists of all time.  That’s why, when I hear a country singer that I think Johnny Cash would be proud of, I like to spread the word.  And the new album by The Dude himself, Jeff Bridges, is a real piece of classic country music.  I’m not saying you have to like it, and I’m not saying you can’t like Brad Paisley or Lady Antebellum, but here’s my recommendation.

Enjoy,

A good smoke is a great leisure…

Many timeless icons enjoyed pipe smoking. Today it might not be seen as glamourous, but the occasional well rounded man can enjoy the act. Its a great experience unlike cigars or other tobaccos, its a smooth and contemplative smoke. When selecting a pipe don’t be tempted by the novelty corncob or a “great deal” make an investment. This pipe is for a lifetime. I inherited my collection from my late father. The pipe pictured is an italian crafted Jacono you can purchase one for $300
